Dallas ISD seeks emergency management specialist

The Dallas Independent School District recently announced that it is seeking an emergency management specialist to oversee the district's emergency preparedness, planning, response and implementation strategies.

The emergency management specialist will be responsible for designing internal emergency preparedness and response exercises for Dallas ISD responders. The specialist will also collaborate with other emergency officials, including federal, local, county, state and district-wide agencies in emergency management for the enhancement of school safety and security.

The emergency management specialist will oversee the campus authorities' safety concerns on or surrounding the campus and collaborate with neighboring agencies and stakeholders to address those concerns.

The person hired will represent the Dallas ISD by presenting its programs and initiatives regarding emergency preparedness, exercises and best practices to internal and external groups and organizations. The specialist will also ensure district programs are in compliance with NIMS regulations.

The right candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Emergency Planning, Public Administration, Emergency Management or a related field with emergency planning coursework. They will also have successfully completed an internship or have one year of experience in the field of emergency management.
