Williamson County OEM seeks emergency management specialist
The full-time position will be subject to irregular hours at the discretion of the department director during emergency situations.
The individual hired will assist the emergency management coordinator in the development, coordination, implementation and maintenance of emergency preparedness, recovery, response and mitigation plans, procedures, exercises and programs. The specialist will also assist the Williamson County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Incident Management Team, Emergency Planning Group and the Emergency Operations Center.
Responsibilities for the person hired include maintaining the Williamson County emergency management operations plan, advising the emergency management coordinator of issues related to planning, operations and/or grant eligibility and serving as a liaison with other agencies to develop plans for emergencies.
Qualified candidates must have education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in public safety, emergency management or a related field and four years of increasingly responsible experience in a related field. Individuals hired must obtain working knowledge of the National Incident Management System and training in the Criminal Justice Information Systems.
Candidates will be judged on their oral and written communication skills, their ability to function effectively in emergency situations and their knowledge of budgetary and business planning processes.
