Drakontas announces initiative to keep schools safe during safety emergencies

Drakontas LLC announced on Wednesday that it rolled out its Safe School Initiative, which provides free user licenses of its DragonForce application to schools to help increase emergency response preparedness.

DragonForce is a multilateral communication software that allows for team communication during an emergency. The app can be downloaded on smartphones, mobile devices, tablets and web browsers to alert emergency response teams of an incident and its details, including exact location and incident type. It allows first responders to arrive on the scene quickly with all the necessary information to effectively handle an incident.

Drakontas' initiative improves communication between school staff and emergency responders and allows school staff seek help quickly and effectively in the event of a school safety emergency, such as a school shooting, medical emergency or natural disaster.

The DragonForce app includes team file sharing, text messaging, personnel tracking, electronic forms and the ability to draw on maps, floor plans or pictures using whiteboard capabilities.

The app can be used simultaneously by tens of thousands of users during a large-scale emergency or by a handful of emergency response experts during small-scale emergencies. It is cloud-based, secure, fully-functional without IT hardware and costs less than $9 per month to use.

DragonForce was developed by Drakontas for the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of Justice and was recently used by 32 SWAT teams at Urban Shield 2013 during the Elementary School Active Shooter training scenario.
