U.S. army renames award to recognize distinguished officer
The award, once called the Distinguished Honor Graduate Award for the Army CBRN Senior Leaders Course, was renamed the Regimental Command Sergeant Major Peter L. Hiltner Distinguished Honor Graduate Award. The official ceremony took place on June 28 and was led by Brigadier General Peggy Combs, the commandant of the Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
"On behalf of everyone at MacB, I would like to congratulate Pete on this well deserved honor," Sid Fuchs, the president and CEO of MacB, said. "The renaming of the CBRN award is a testament to Pete's more than 30 years of distinguished service to the Nation."
Hiltner, retired, is the current director of MacB's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear /Emergency Management Branch. He spent more than 32 years in the army where he served as the 9th Regimental Command Sergeant Major for the Army Chemical Regiment and the Command Sergeant Major of the Army CBRN School. In 2008, Hiltner was inducted into the Army Chemical Regiment Hall of Fame.
