IntegenX teams with SAIC for DTRA support contract
SAID plans to integrate its software and biodefense capability with IntegenX's RapidHIT System to offer an integrated system using DNA-based identification of biothreat agents, ExecutiveBiz.com reports.
"Teaming with SAIC will give the U.S. government further access to IntegenX's rapid DNA technology," Stevan Jovanovich, IntegenX's president and CEO, said, according to ExecutiveBiz.com. "SAIC has shown that they can integrate complex software and detection modalities for support of military biodefense applications."
Rapid DNA technology holds the potential to detect biothreat agents and support field forward personnel, according to IntegenX, which demonstrated RapidHIT's 200 Human DNA Identification System to the Defense Department in 2012. The system delivers human DNA profiles from swabs, bottles, cans, sputum, hair, saliva and blood.
