DTRA looking to create online scientific video journal

The U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency Chemical/Biological Technologies Department recently submitted a call for sources to provide the publication of research in video format.

DTRA issued the solicitation in conjunction with the U.S. Strategic Command Center for Combating WMD. DTRA and SCC-WMD said that they are seeking a mechanism to publish funded-science projects online in a manner that increases reproducibility and transparency.

The notification, according to the agencies, should be considered an open call for respondents capable of providing a branded, peer reviewed, PUBMED indexed online journal that demonstrates methodologies ranging from basic to advanced protocols. The solicitation is for up to 33 articles for a length of two years.

According to DTRA, respondent organizations should be capable of making all of the arrangements necessary for developing and operating an online video journal and have prior experience in executing a peer reviewed, indexed video journal.

In addition, DTRA said that it is seeking candidates with experience in establishing and overseeing an editorial board and an editorial advisory board capable of working with input from the government. Candidates should also be able to provide their own editorial staff to manage scripts and articles before videotaping and be certain the online journal meets the government's needs.
