UDT sends biological detection equipment to China

Universal Detection Technology has received a purchase order for its biological detection equipment from its distributor in China to fight bioterrorism.

Universal Detection Technology CEO Jacques Tizabi said that the company received the purchase order from its distributor,  WellCrown International Resources.

WellCrown is an international supplier that supplies defense and security resources, as well as a range of integrated services, according to Tizabi. Most recently, WellCrown represented  UDT at the at the 2010 China Fire Exposition held in Beijing, which was organized by the at the 2010 China Fire Exposition held in Beijing. The exposition featured approximately 370 exhibitors from 36 countries.

UDT is a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies used to defend against potential bioterrorist threats. The company has developed a bacterial spore detector that detects certain biohazard substances. UDT’s 5-agent biodetection kit was certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and was recently evaluated by both the U.S. Department of Defense and the United Kingdom military.

Tizabi said that UDT also supplied its radiation detection equipment for the protection of sports venues at the 2009 Olympics in Beijing.

No specifics of the WellCrown work order were given, but Tizabi said that he is very optimistic.

“The P.O. from WellCrown, as well as representation at the China Fire Expo, is part of our strategy of having international partners with established local connections represent UNDT,” Tizabi said. “We anticipate that China will be a significant market for our products.”
