FEMA seeks Assistant Administrator
In order to be considered, all applicants must hold U.S. citizenship and be able to obtain Top Secret security clearance. A public financial disclosure will also be required within 30 days of being hired.
This position is responsible for the direction and overview of implementation and development of operational policy in cases of emergency, and guidance relating to FEMA's response to all disaster situations. The assistant administrator will also be expected to oversee the procedural operations of a majority of the office's responsibilities including activation of support teams, management of FEMA headquarters and other, smaller operational outlets.
Candidates must meet Executive Core Qualifications through the narrative portion of the application detailing excellence and experience with leadership related to change and people, business acumen, being results driven, and the ability to build coalitions with colleagues and those outside of the agency.
Technical qualifications for this position include knowledge of the Legislative and Executive branches' role and procedures; direct experience working with emergency management authorities in areas of policy and business management; knowledge and experience working with local, state, tribal and federal levels of emergency response; and evidence of the ability to work with partners both in and outside of the agency and the office who are likely to have a diverse range of beliefs and opinions.
