CBRNE workshop held in Saudi Arabia

A three-day workshop took place recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that focused on protective measures for threats that are chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive (CBRNE) In nature.

The workshop was opened by His Highness Prince Dr Turki bin Mohamed bin Saud Alkabir and other high officials. Saudi Arabian staff members from several government ministries and representatives from industry took part in the workshop.

The conference covered multiple aspects of CBRNE threat mitigation and protection, and stressed the importance of having specialized CBRNE training with live agents or simulated agents.

The conference was organized by Hotzone Solutions, the international CBRNE institute, and the Saudi National Authority for the Implementation of the Chemical and Biological Conventions. Hotzone said this was the first conference of its kind to take place in the city.

The Saudi National Authority praised the conference and expressed interest in training within the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in disarmament and nonproliferation activity that includes being involved with international conventions and treaties. The authorities also said they would continue to work in partnership with Hotzone Solutions.

The company focuses on international training and consulting for defense strategies against CBRNE weapons.
