DART seeks emergency-preparedness specialist
This position is responsible for assisting the emergency preparedness manager in all aspects, including coordination of response and support programs and requirements. This person also designs training curriculum for emergency-response personnel and conducts this training. This position also will provide technical expertise to colleagues in the department and help with interactions between the emergency-preparedness manager and emergency-preparedness agencies at all levels of government and within the private sector.
This position also is responsible for preparing reports, including statistical data, and other presentation materials; they will assist the emergency-preparedness manager in conducting and developing drills and exercises for localities.
Candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree in public or business administration, public safety or public health, or a related field. Candidates must be able to respond to an emergency situation on an on-call basis at all times. Candidates should possess knowledge and familiarity with emergency-management principles and will be required to interact with government officials on the local, state and federal levels for extended periods of time.
Candidates must hold a valid Texas driver's license and have no more than one driving-while-intoxicated (DWI) conviction, which must not have occurred within the past 60 months.
