Cavirin Systems names Sherry CEO

Cavirin Systems has appointed J.D. Sherry as CEO, the company said on Monday.

Sherry previously served as global vice president for Trend Micro. He has a wealth of experience with enterprise and data-center architecture. He also has served as an adviser in areas including health-care information and privacy, payment cards and personally identifiable information data.

“I am very excited about joining a company that is taking a new approach to helping organizations achieve both continuous compliance and security,” Sherry said. “At Cavirin, we recognize the fact that cyber risk management starts with complete transparency and the continuous evaluation of risk. We anticipate that compliance and security initiatives won’t decrease in scope; rather, they will likely become an integral part of every single organization doing business online.”

Cavirin said Sherry holds top-secret clearance, as well as MBA and IT degrees from Jones University. Prior to his appointment at Trend Micro, Sherry worked at NIC as vice president of technology, where he implemented the centralized security structure and technology.

Cavirin specializes in cyber-security solutions for enterprises. Its ContainerLock technology is a protection package that guards data centers and cloud accounts. Several enterprises and Software-as-a-Service industry leaders turn to Cavirin for protection, Cavirin said.
