The Federal Emergency Management Agency is looking for two emergency management specialists for its office in Oakland, California.
The full-time positions are in the Recovery Division of the Public Assistance Branch. These are temporary positions that won't exceed two years. Main responsibilities include analyzing final vouchers, inspection reports and audit reports for public assistance programs, and preparing recommendations for required follow-up actions for the programs.
Other duties include reviewing project applications and looking for conformity to the regulations, eligibility criteria and funding requirements. The successful candidates will also work with officials from the National Emergency Management Information System and Emergency Management Migrated Information Environment.
Qualifications needed include a full year of specialized experience equal to the GS-11 level in federal service. Specialized experience means having worked in the following areas: assisting assessments in environmental or historical projects; working with state and local governments or private organizations on communicating regulations and procedural and policy guidance on emergency management; managing large construction projects; or demonstrating a knowledge of public assistance grant programs.
