Washington state is looking for a new State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff training & exercise program manager to create preparedness activities in the state's military department.
Responsibilities would include working with stakeholders to introduce incident command system principles for the department and coordinate with multiple agencies.
The successful candidate would also be responsible for leading the emergency management coordination for the entire department, and conducting, providing and supporting the training and exercise preparedness activities for State EOC staff.
The position further requires making sure all the EOC's programs are in alignment with all state training and exercise programs. At least two years as an emergency management program specialist 2 is required to apply for the position.
In lieu of experience, candidates can also apply if they have a bachelor's degree, and four years of professional level experience in financial management, emergency management, public information or affairs, training and education, environmental analysis or planning, program or project management, legislative affairs or urban planning or civil or structural engineering.
Salary would range between $4,114 to $5,395 per month. The Washington Military Department is comprised of several divisions including Emergency Management, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, State Guard, Washington Youth Academy and State & Federal Support Services.
The department is responsible for homeland security in the state and emergency mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
