FEMA hiring Disaster Emergency Communications supervisor

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is seeking a group supervisor to oversee the Disaster Emergency Communications (DEC) group in Maryland. 

The supervisor will provide oversight and direction for tactical communications, public safety and restoration operations. Duties will also include forwarding cyber-related incidents and analysis requirements to the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center for action and resolution.

The DEC supervisor also will ensure that local communications carriers are aware of potential new calling patterns due to relocations or evacuations, ensure the development of common operating procedure and approve acquisition requests for equipment, goods and/or services. 

The supervisor will be responsible for providing information to federal, state, tribal, local, nongovernmental and private sector personnel on DEC roles and responsibilities ensuring open lines of communication for these groups.

Prioritizing conflicting requests from state and federal agencies is a main responsibility of this position, requiring the DEC supervisor to provide recommendations for solving such conflicts and share information with all communications stakeholders upon resolution.
