Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard arrived at Anfield Road on Saturday – as the opponent’s coach.

How will he cheer for a potential goal against Liverpool?

Six-and-a-half years after leaving Liverpool, Steven Gerrard on Saturday afternoon returned to the field where he enjoyed a hugely successful 17-year career, pulling the strings as midfield manager and becoming a legend at the club.
The 41-year-old has coached Aston Villa since this season and is now in the Premier League for the first time. Previously, he trained Glasgow Rangers.
How cool can Gerrard stay?
There is no doubt that Liverpool fans will receive him warmly – even if he coaches the opponent. And Gerrard himself underestimated the importance of his return. “I leave the excitement to others. For me, it is about preparing my team optimally and achieving a good result.”
His counterpart Jürgen Klopp doesn’t really want to believe it. “He has no idea how he feels when he steps out of the catacombs onto the field,” the current Reds coach said with a smile. Klopp also predicted: “Gerrard will undoubtedly be the coach of Liverpool one day. The only question is when.”
