Volleyball: Italy wins dramatic European Championship final
The Italian volleyball players have won the European Championship for the 7th time. After a 1: 2 set deficit with 3: 2 (22:25, 25:20, 20:25, 25:20, 15:11), Slovenia won the final in Katowice, Poland. When formerly dominating Italy won the title for the first time since 2005, Slovenia also lost its third European Championship final after 2015 and 2019. The bronze went to world champion and host Poland, who clearly beat Serbia 3-0 (25:22, 25:16, 25:22).
