Bundesliga Releguation candidate Armenia Bielefeld will have to do without regular defender Cédric Brunner in the crucial match at VfL Bochum. The 28-year-old professional footballer is missing from the East Westphalia squad at Ruhr Stadium. Brunner lost consciousness shortly after the clash at VfL Wolfsburg almost a month ago, after which he did not play.

Midfielder Fabian Kunze, who was called up due to ill health at the short notice, was not in the squad for the final. Interim coach Marco Costman at DAZN Streaming Service said the reason for the failure was: “There is no point in trying anything.” After a 1-1 draw against Hertha PSC, he made two changes on Friday. Alessandro Scoop and Florian Krueger are the newcomers to the starting XI, replacing Kunze and Brock Ins.

Coach Thomas Reyes made a change at the already saved Bochumers, compared to last Saturday’s 4-3 derby victory at Borussia Dortmund. Danilo Soares replaces Herbert Pokehorn on the left.
