A lucky winner from France has won the biggest jackpot in the Euromillions lottery to date. He can look forward to 220 million euros!

AFP found out on Friday from the French lottery company Française des Jeux (FDJ). The lucky winner now has 60 days to contact FDJ and claim their winnings.

It is the largest jackpot in European lottery history since its founding in 2004. According to the FDJ, the winning ticket bears the numbers 21, 26, 31, 34, 49 and stars No. 2 and 5.

Euromillions is played in nine European countries which are Belgium, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Austria, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. The last grand prix was hacked in Switzerland in February 2021, and the winner took home €210 million. In France, the previous record was set in December 2020, when the player won 200 million euros.

In Germany, too, lottery players can look forward to a cash blessing: As the West German Lottery announced on Friday, a player in Lower Saxony has cracked the Eurojackpot in the first division. He waved about 33 million euros. The winner had correctly guessed the lucky numbers 2, 6, 8, 21 and 25 as well as the two euro numbers 6 and 9.
