Coronavirus: Mapping the unknown

aA year and a half after the coronavirus pandemic, SARS-CoV-2 still holds important puzzles for scientists. Of course, the research cohorts were able to draw many conclusions from their countless studies, and the most notable and undoubtedly important victory was the development of effective vaccines in record time. However, many questions that citizens and politicians rightly ask themselves have so far received only vague answers at best.

Against this background, the Science Media Center in Cologne asked more than 40 scientists studying the coronavirus what the most pressing question needed to be answered. Although this is not a representative survey, these personal responses allow us to draw interesting maps of the unknown.
