Registration for Swisscom Start-up Challenge 2021 is open

Registration for the Swisscom Start-Up Challenge 2021 has been open since May 17, Swisscom announced. Telko is looking for startups and research teams developing innovative cybersecurity solutions. The five winning teams get an opportunity for business collaboration and investment from Swiss Ventures. The aim of this year’s challenge is to educate companies about cybersecurity and campaign for cybersecurity in the “new normal”, As shown on the company’s website.

Searching for innovative cybersecurity solutions

According to Swisscom, all startups and research teams that have developed a prototype, product or solution to identify and address security risks can apply to this challenge. All teams that help organizations increase cybersecurity awareness among employees can register as well.

According to the company in the advertisement, teams must present the prototype or product in the exploration program. The developed application must be usable in Switzerland. Swisscom will select ten companies from among the applications it receives by the end of August and invite them to a presentation. On September 16, the expert jury will select five winning teams in association with Venturelab.

Opportunity for investment and business partnerships

According to the announcement, the winning teams expect the following:

  • A week-long exploration program with the Swisscom cybersecurity and infrastructure access Swisscom community

  • Guidance from Swisscom’s cybersecurity experts and partners

  • Further development of marketing and sales skills

  • Individual ground training and coaching by Venturelab

  • Exchanging experiences in the field of cybersecurity with major entrepreneurs and venture capitalists

  • Building a network of potential clients and business partners

  • Examining business cooperation with Swisscom and Swisscom Ventures

  • Invitation and network development for a selected Swisscom Outpost startup in Silicon Valley. The program is designed according to the individual startup needs

The deadline to register for the 2021 Startup Challenge is July 4, 2021.
