The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking an emergency management specialist in the area of response in Kansas City, Missouri.

This position will be tasked with advising staff and leadership throughout the FEMA regional headquarters in response issues associated with emergency management. This person will serve as a senior advisor in emergency management-related regulation, policy and statute development and will take on analysis of emergency response activity. This person will be working with data that can be incomplete and difficult to obtain and document. This person will also be expected to detail information to senior officials tasked with directing response efforts.

Basic requirements for the position include the ability to pass a background investigation, U.S. citizenship and registration with the Selective Service, if applicable.

Candidates for this position are required to have at least one year at the GS-11 level of government work or equivalent. Specialized experience must include utilizing response guidelines to develop emergency management plans, procedures and processes for federal, local and state levels of jurisdiction; and using and understanding the National Response Framework and the National Incident Management Systems.
