USAID seeks global health security advisor in Burkina Faso.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking a global health security adviser (GHSA) for Burkina Faso.

This position’s primary responsibilities include supporting the USAID’s Global Health Security and Development (GHSD) operations and portfolio in the country. This includes preparedness activities related to the prevention of the Ebola virus and other infectious diseases. This position will also serve a supervisory role over multi-sectoral and multi-country portfolio and will manage GHSD-related investments for the region.

This position will play a role in the federal government’s efforts in delivering USAID expectations that have been set by the White House and Congress implementing GHSA Action Packages in the region.

This position requires the capability to obtain secret clearance and a master’s degree or higher in an area related to public health, epidemiology, medicine or policy. Candidates should have at least seven years of experience working in public health or in developing countries and a minimum of three years of work with international health or animal health organizations. Candidates should also have at least five years of management and large-scale project coordination experience. Proficiency in English is required, and the ability to speak and understand French is desired.
