FEMA seeking emergency management specialist, situation unit leader.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has an opening for an emergency management specialist that would serve as a situation unit leader in Chicago, Illinois. 

For this position, all candidates must be U.S. citizens, and men born after Dec. 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service. A successful background investigation is also required.

This position is tasked with deployment and non-deployment activity. When deployed, this person ensures that the situation room is organized with all needed resources being available. This person will also be tasked with situational information collection, gathering and updating in order to keep incident information relevant.

While not deployed, the situation unit leader will take part in exercises at multiple government levels,  and will provide input for development in function documentation and planning for aspects of FEMA’s activity deemed crucial.

This position requires at least one year of specialized experience in the performance of studies related to preparing, identifying and implementing data collection plans to support situational information collection and planning for major disaster response operations. Certification as a National Incident Management System (NIMS) Situation Unit Leader or equivalent is also mandatory.
