TSA seeking explosives specialist
This position requires either full U.S. citizenship or to be considered a U.S. National, and candidates will need to be able to obtain and keep secret clearance.
This position serves as a technical consultant to managers and the Federal Security DIrector on all issues relating to explosives, improvised explosive devices (IED) and threats that are chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear in nature (CBRN). This position will be tasked with the assessment and response to unresolved checkpoint alarms, determining the nature of a potential explosive or if an explosive is improvised.
This person will also be expected to developing training for transportation security officers and other members of staff relating to explosives.
This position requires bomb disposal graduation or a certificate. Candidates will need at least one year of specialized experience with duties that include assisting with bomb program management, such as acting as a team member on a bomb squad. Experience responding to alarms of explosive-related situations and the identification of explosive types and sources is necessary.
This position requires graduation from an accredited IED/bomb disposal course with field experience with civil or military in explosive ordinance disposal.
