FEMA announces open program, emergency management specialist positions
This position is located in New York City. Main responsibilities for the emergency management specialist include providing management for post disaster environments as the Lead Coordinator for the Recovery Support Function (RSF), leading staff and reviewing recovery plans that are submitted by local, tribal and state governments for FEMA approval. This person will provide technical guidance to governmental officials at multiple levels and will provide analysis of program operations and, when necessary, recommend changes to requirements.
For this position, candidates will need at least one year of working experience at the GS-12 level of government work or equivalent position with experience in leading development, implementation of recovery policies, procedures and planning.

The program specialist position is located in Washington, D.C. This position is tasked with the planning, procurement, coordination and other activity relating to temporary housing units in disaster recovery operations. This person will also monitor resource requirement for FEMA housing programs. This position will also be expected to produce senior level policy briefings, analyze individual assistance programs and provide recommended changes, if necessary.
For this position, candidates will need at least one year of working experience at the GS-11 level of government service or equivalent position. Experience will need to consist of property planning and procurement, policy and procedure analysis, and developing and delivering briefings to management.
