CDC announces epidemiologist openings in Atlanta.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that they have openings for epidemiologists in Atlanta, with an application window that will close on Friday, Nov. 27.

An epidemiologist is tasked with the evaluation of data collection, utilization methods and will perform quality control to study epidemiological issues. This person will also be expected to oversee contracts, cooperative agreements and grants in order to carry out responsibilities associated with the position. This position will also be tasked with the designing, initiation and planning of epidemiological studies and investigations.

This set of positions is in support of the CDC’s Ebola Hiring Initiative.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a field related to health or allied sciences that are relevant to the position. The lowest federal grade level of the position requires at least three years of higher level graduate education or a doctorate in a field relating to epidemiology or public health. For higher grades, specialized experience at the previous GS level, equivalent to one year, is required with specialized experience within epidemiology or public health.

This position requires U.S. citizenship, a successful background investigation and a confidential financial disclosure in line with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
