FEMA seeks emergency management specialist.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on Wednesday that they have an emergency management specialist opening in Maynard, Massachusetts.

For this position, all applicants will need U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation. Applicants will also need to be registered with the Selective Service System if they are male and born after Dec. 31, 1959.

This position is tasked with the preparation of emergency management plans, assisting in the implementation of the Public Assistance Program (PAP), analyzing program data and determining resource availability and requirements for missions.

This person will be carrying out emergency functions and will work in establishing and maintaining an effective recovery options.

For this position, candidates must have at least one year of working experience at the GS-07 level of government work or equivalent work for the GS-09 level position, and GS-09 experience for the GS-11 position. This experience should consist of performing efficiency reviews, planning and conducting studies and evaluating existing programs and providing technical advice for issues within a program.

A graduate degree or equivalent level of education would also act as qualification for the GS-09 level position, and a doctorate or equivalent would suffice for the GS-11 level position.
