FEMA announces open supervisory positions
The supervisory emergency management specialist is tasked with supervision in technical and administrative capacities over staff members. This position will be expected to be able to provide coordination assistance for major activities in order to ensure that essential recovery functions are available at full capacity. Also, this position will be required to make sure that recovery programs and service delivery fall in line with emergency management-related directives, policies and laws.
Candidates should have at least one year of experience working at the GS-14 level of federal government service or equivalent position that includes working in supportive roles within disaster response and recovery. This can include unpaid work that consists of volunteering with national service programs.
The application window for this position will close on Oct. 14 or when 200 submissions have been received.
The supervisory program specialist position is tasked with overall supervision of the Process Design Department and will be providing administrative and human resource management services. This position will be expected to recommend system enhancements when necessary and will take on analysis activity of system usage.
Candidates will need one year of experience that is equivalent to the GS-11 level of federal government service. This experience should include staff direction, supervision and planning and performing technical systems testing and analysis. Experience in evaluating program operation efficacy is also desired.
