South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control seeks program manager

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has announced an opening for a regional health preparedness director.

This position serves as an adviser to the Regional Leadership Team and the Regional Health Director on issues related to emergency management and public health preparedness. This person will be tasked with the coordination of public health emergency planning and response activity, and the regional preparedness planning and completion of Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Healthcare Preparedness Program related grant activities.

This person is expected to manage personnel and financial resources in relation to the implementation of regional Public Health Preparedness Program activity. This position will also act as a liaison between the department and other state and local government agencies.

This position will be responsible for ensuring that regional staff are trained to respond appropriately in the case of an emergency relating to public health. This person will also participate and coordinate the development of training materials.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field relating to this position. Those with five years of experience in an area related to response, emergency management, public health preparedness and management will be given preference.
