State of Washington seeks emergency preparedness coordinator
This position is tasked with the program coordination and management of emergency management grant programs relating to preparedness. This person will also be expected to provide assistance in monitoring grant agreement amendments, contracts, expenditure reconsolidations and budget tracking. This position will also track reporting requirements in this area.
This position is also expected to review payment requests to ensure that they are compliant with federal and state regulations and accuracy.
This position requires a minimum of two years of working experience as an emergency management program specialist level 1 or a bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional working experience in an area relating to emergency management, training or education, financial and grant management, program and project management or another related area.
Higher degrees will replace a year of required work experience. Those with specific experience in one or more of the following areas will be given preference: monitoring and evaluation of grants for federal, local, state governments or private entity; the development, preparation and evaluation of budget status briefings; or developing and negotiating contracts with public or private entities.
Other desired qualifications include the ability to apply budgeting principles in the coordination of grants, and to prepare and complete contracts and other associated documents in relation to grant guidance. Candidates should be well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite products.
