LBNL seeks emergency management specialist
This position will be responsible for providing support to the Emergency Management Program and will focus on the development, planning and coordination of annual exercise operations. It will be tasked with coordination of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) as well.
This person will serve as the CERT lead and will take part in recruitment and training of participating laboratory personnel. This will include the oversight of CERT deployment as necessary. This person will be expected to provide support to other areas within the program, including the Readiness Assurance, Training and Drills program and the Emergency Response Organization and will also serve as a member.
This position will also assist in the identification and maintenance of technological solutions within the Emergency Management Program.
This position will require a bachelor's degree of equivalent and five years of working experience in a field relating to emergency management. Candidates should be knowledgeable of the National Response Framework, the Federal Continuity Directive, the National Incident Management System and the Incident Command System. Candidates should also provide evidence of their expertise in preparedness, planning, response, mitigation and other areas.
Desired qualifications include certification through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's independent study courses and completion of the Master Exercise Practitioner Program.
