The position will be responsible for coordination and management of all procedures of the center. This includes resource prioritization regarding internal departments, volunteer organizations and other external agencies. This position is expected to develop and conduct training for EMA personnel and officials from outside of the agency.
During an activation event, the coordinator will monitor the performance of the center in its operations. Research and development into software programs and sirens used by the center will fall under this position. The coordinator will be expected to serve as a lead coordinator when updates and other developments occur for agency-wide plans.
Candidates will be required to have a bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration or another related field with a minimum of two years of working experience in public safety or program coordination. Preference is given to those with experience within emergency management applications specifically. A valid driver's license is also required.
Candidates with Georgia Emergency Manager Certification will also be given preference.
