New York seeking emergency support coordinator
The position serves the city's logistics operations. The coordinator would be responsible for the organization, deployment and preparation activity for emergency response equipment and other supplies. This position will also be expected to work with other units within the office as well as local, state and federal officials along with nongovernmental organizations.
Specific duties for this position include basic maintenance on equipment, vehicles and generators; assisting the Emergency Support Center regarding emergency supplies; providing technical knowledge to the office's planning teams; and drive office owned vehicles for operational purposes.
For this position, candidates are required to have eight years of full-time experience in a relevant field of emergency management. If applicants hold a bachelor's degree or a master's degree they should have four or three years respectively of full-time working experience in a field relating to emergency management. Candidates are also required to have at least 18 months in a supervising capacity.
Those with experience with warehouses, mechanics and electrical wiring, vendor management, inventory tracking and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs will be given preference.
