American Red Cross seeking emergency program manager in Ohio
This position is responsible for the implementation of disaster services for the geographical assignment, dependent on the region. This involves leading a team of volunteers that will manage disaster preparedness, recovery and response programs in the locality. This position will also cooperate with governmental agencies through specific partnerships.
The person selected for this position will perform in the full disaster cycle from preparedness to response to recovery. This person will be expected to ensure that ARC service is available to diverse communities across the region, to manage local deployment of volunteers and to serve during a disaster or emergency situation.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of working experience in social services, programs delivery or other related field in emergency management, and up to three years of management experience is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and analytical skills.
This position will be on-call on a 24-hour basis, especially during disasters and other emergency situations. The job may require basic ambulatory skills, and candidates will need to be physically able to stand, walk and manipulate moderately heavy items. Candidates should also have good hand-eye coordination and be able to operate equipment associated with this position.
