ChemImage to demonstrate threat-detection products at METSEC 2015

ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS) said on Monday that it will demonstrate and exhibit its equipment offerings and their efficacy at the METSEC 2015 defense and security training conference in Montreal, which runs through Thursday.

"We are very excited to attend the METSEC 2015 Conference," Matthew Nelson, chief scientist and CISS business director, said.

In the training segment during the conference, law enforcement will be able to witness CISS' LightGuard device in action. The device is a shortwave infrared (SWIR) hyperspectral imaging (HSI) sensor. The company said LightGuard can determine the presence of chemical and explosive threats on an individual and on vehicles. It is a stationary system that provides a wide detection field, surpassing what is currently available by many systems. The company said the LightGuard system can detect a threat from 100 meters, or approximately 328 feet, away.

The company also will showcase its VeroVision system in their exhibit. VeroVision is a handheld sensor that can detect chemical threats on a person or other surfaces common in vehicles and buildings and can do so for up to 20 meters (65.6 feet) away.
