Foundation to assess US response to Ebola outbreak
The Heritage Foundation has initiated a task force that will review the U.S. response and offer recommendations on how the health community in the U.S, can better respond similar health crises. The report is meant to examine the Ebola response from the U.S. both domestically and internationally, with a goal of improving the speed, effectiveness and quality of future U.S. responses to bioterrorism, pandemics and natural disasters.
The entire world and the international health community were shocked to see the aggressiveness of the virus. Ebola spread too quickly for the medical response to make up for lack of preparedness, showing that the international community’s most vulnerable regions are still susceptible to public health crises and pandemics.
Health professionals and statisticians will continue to do their part to prevent future Ebola outbreaks.
