Boehner says nuclear deal with Iran threatens peace in region, world
Boehner was responding to President Barack Obama’s admission to National Public Radio News that after the deal’s framework expires, Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb almost immediately. He called Iran the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror and questioned if the country will even comply with the pact.
Boehner said President Obama’s admission to NPR confirms that the deal with Iran would pave the way for the country to develop nuclear weapons in the near future.
“The Iranian regime has consistently taken a long view on its regional – indeed global – ambitions of exporting its revolution,” Boehner said. “After multiple evasions of international inspections to date, no one should believe that the proposed inspections and verification are bulletproof.”
