Oklahoma State Department of Health hiring emergency preparedness and response planner

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is looking to a fill a position for an emergency preparedness and response planner.

If hired, the candidate will provide hazard response to Oklahoma communities during natural or manmade disasters that require a public health response.

Duties for the position include serving as part of the regional team for emergency preparedness and response and assisting with the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of preparedness and response training. The planner will also participate in the development of emergency planning response plans in cooperation with a central office and respective county health department administrators.

Requirements for the position include a bachelor's degree and experience serving on and leading a regional response team. Candidates must also have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the functions of the local public health system, as well as state, federal military and civilian supervision of project planning and implementation.

Travel is required as part of the emergency preparedness and response planner position.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is tobacco-free, and employees are prohibited from using tobacco on department premises or in vehicles. Applicants may be subject to a background check.

The salary for the position is $1,842.96 on a biweekly basis. The deadline to apply is Aug. 26.
