MRIGlobal to give citation award to U.S. Ambassador Robert Mikulak
Mikulak will receive the MRIGlobal Board of Directors and Trustees 2014 Citation Award at the MRIGlobal annual dinner on October 14 in Kansas City. The award is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies leadership in academia, science, business or the humanities.
"At MRIGlobal, we have been privileged to contribute research that supports our nation's work to eliminate the threat of chemical weapons," Thomas Sack, the president and CEO of MRIGlobal, said. "We strongly support a goal of nonproliferation of chemical and biological weapons and we recognize Ambassador Mikulak's life-long commitment and leadership toward an international policy to rid the world of chemical weapons."
Mikulak dedicated more than 40 years of his life to the global reduction and prohibition of chemical and biological weapons. Mikulak was named the U.S. permanent representative to the OPCW in 2010. He previously served as the director of the State Department's Office of Chemical and Biological Weapons Affairs, the deputy head of the U.S. Delegation to the Chemical Weapons Convention Preparatory Commission and a series of positions in the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency.
