IAEM-Canada recruits more than 60 new emergency management professionals

International Association of Emergency Managers-Canada (IAEM-Canada) recently announced that it recruited more than 60 emergency management professionals during a membership campaign at the World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM) in Toronto.

IAEM-Canada said the event, which took place on June 15-18, was attended by more than 1,000 delegates and 70 speakers from around the world. Emergency management professionals came together during the event to learn and make connections.

The event gave IAEM-Canada the opportunity to display offered information on its Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) designations. The organization also provided information on IAEM member benefits.

WCDM seeks to provide a venue for disaster management professionals to discover new solutions through networking, exchange ideas with colleagues from other disaster management disciplines and participate in a unique knowledge exchange. The event is attended by professionals involved in impact assessment, recovery planning, risk assessment, community preparedness, contingency planning, community resilience and organizational resilience.

IAEM-Canada became the first IAEM region outside the United States in 2003.

IAEM is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the principles of emergency management. The organization represents professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters. IAEM has more than 6,000 members worldwide.
