CPM East conference scheduled for May 12-14

CPM East, an event focused on continuity of operations, contingency planning and business continuity, will take place on May 12-14 in Washington, D.C., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The event serves as an opportunity for emergency response professionals to seek out cost effective technology and proven strategies to prepare and plan for emergencies. Professionals also learn how to deal with disruptions of operations, such as response and recovery.

Conference attendees in federal, state and local emergency response, college and university risk management, private sector emergency management and government and private sector information technology can keep up with current and future trends and network with their peers.

CPM East also allows attendees to engage in cross-training during the co-hosted GovSec event. The supplementary event is focused on mitigation, prevention and response for incidents related to school security and safety, access control and video surveillance, cybercrime, cyberterrorism, critical infrastructure protection and counter and anti-terrorism.

The year's second CPM event, the CPM Symposium, will take place on November 18-19 in Dallas at the Gaylord Texan Resort.

The CPM East Advisory Council guides the development of CPM East programs. It is comprised of representatives from academia, the military, the federal government and other groups. The diversity of the council members' expertise is meant to meet the educational needs of all the conference's attendees.
