Virginia searching for emergency response organization media relations specialist

The state of Virginia has started its search for an emergency response organization media relations specialist.

The full-time position will provide emergency public information and media relations subject matter expertise to evaluate and observe, assess, and document the current capabilities and capacities of identified partner nations and Contiguous United States organizations.

Applicants would also be tasked with developing and delivering country specific consequence management training, education, exercise planing and exercise execution events to enable partner nations to develop and sustain the requisite chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high explosive consequence management expertise.

Other responsibilities include developing instructional objectives derived from consequence management capability and training assessments and collaborating with first responder, partner nation and interagency emergency public information and media relations subject matter experts to develop training and exercise curricula for events.

The position will also develop, document, assess and execute scenario-driven WMD exercises in accordance with customer defined requirements and recommend actions to improve capabilities in written documentation.
