Candidates for the position, which pays $8,034 to $11,349 a month, must have knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, supplemented with a master's degree with course work in engineering, health physics, business or public administration, environmental sciences or related fields.
Preference for the position is afforded to candidates possessing a formal degree.
The position also requires knowledge of radiation and nuclear systems, processes and effect, and candidates must be knowledgeable of nuclear accident source terms and equipment and techniques for measuring radiological material. Additionally, the job requires a thorough knowledge of program planning, development and evaluation methods and the ability to prepare and comment on complex and comprehensive technical reports and articles.
