Ark. Red Cross office seeks disaster program manager

The Hot Springs, Ark., office of the Red Cross is looking for a new disaster program manager to be responsible for implementing the disaster services program in an assigned geographic territory.

The full time manager position is in support of the Red Cross' loyal disaster volunteers, who respond to emergencies and provide relief to victims of disaster. The volunteers serve in a number of capacities, including disaster action team members, disaster assessment, caseworkers, mass care feeding, emergency response vehicle drivers, shelter managers and staff, disaster health services and disaster mental health.

The manager will lead and manage a primarily volunteer team responsible for implementing disaster preparedness, response and recovery programs in the area while ensuring the development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers in each of the program support functional areas of the disaster cycle to meet the needs of the territory, region, state and division.

The manager will also act as part of the Disaster Management Cycle processes and be responsible for local preparation, response and recovery management, as well as management of government partnerships with assigned territory.

The position includes variable hours and days, including evenings and weekends based on organizational need.
