Apprio receives $20 million contract with FEMA's CDP
The five-year, $20 million contract consists of a $3.75 million base year followed by four option years. Apprio will provide support services to help the Anniston, Ala.-based CDP prepare state and local emergency response personnel for all hazards, including terrorist attacks, through hands-on training. The training program was developed for local, tribal, state, federal, international and private sector responders from multiple emergency response agencies.
"Apprio will work hand-in-hand with FEMA to promote effective training and awareness for emergency response," Darryl Britt, the president and founder of Apprio, said. "We've been operating in this field for many years, and the difference between a successful response and a catastrophe often is training. We look forward to helping FEMA fill out its training materials and courses to further bolster nationwide emergency response at the federal, state and local levels."
Apprio will perform multiple training support services, including classroom setup, outreach programs, administrative registration support, planning for support activities, record maintenance, record analysis, historical record archives, coordination with other CDP functional areas and contractors, quality control, travel arrangements and scheduling of transportation.
Apprio provides specialized technology solutions for the defense, health and homeland security markets.
