Information Technology Specialist needed at FEMA Regional Office in New York City

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency is seeking an information technology specialist in New York City, according to a recent job posting on usajobs.gov.

The IT specialist will provide IT network support and guidance to FEMA's Regional Office, Region TWO, Mission Support Division. The position is considered a GS-12 level role and the person who fills this role must have at least one full year of experience at the GS-11 level. The salary for the position begins at $78,361.

The ideal candidate will have experience with strategic IT network planning and strategy, project management, leadership and managerial experience in the development of initiatives to meet IT project goals, marketing experience, budgeting expertise and extensive experience with the resolution of technology software and equipment issues.

The IT specialist will lead the FEMA Electronic Key Management System on a regional level and will be responsible for overseeing regional communication platforms, handling network and technical duties for FEMA telecommunication platforms, acting as system administrator for FEMA-controlled telephone computer systems and switch networks and overall acting as the security officer for FEMA information systems and COMSEC custodian to the FEMA Regional Office.
