Georgia Tech Research Institute purchases AAI Test & Training's A2PATS system

AAI Test & Training announced on Friday that Georgia Tech Research Institute has purchased its Advanced Architecture Phase Amplitude and Time Simulator Single-Cabinet System for use in Atlanta, Georgia.

AAI Test & Training is a unit of Textron Systems, a subsidiary of Textron, Inc. The company's A2PATS Single-Cabinet System is a plug-and-play electronic warfare simulator of aircraft scenarios designed to train users to locate, identify and defend against ground and surface-to-air missile threats.

GTRI purchased the A2PATS system to enhance its end-to-end approach to EW and electronic systems development. AAI Test & Training modified its unit for GTRI with a threat file translator, which syncs legacy system threat file libraries to the new A2PATS system.

"This is the same architecture we are providing so successfully to Department of Defense EW centers of excellence for customers such as the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy," AAI Test & Training Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Mensh said. "The A2PATS Single-Cabinet System scales and configures this robust architecture within a more streamlined footprint and at a more affordable price point, while continuing to offer expandability for future requirements. It puts the power of our A2PATS technology into every stage of the EW solution development chain, from the services themselves to critical research organizations like GTRI."
