Gurucul named MVP for threat detection prowess

The Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) suite was recognized by the Computer Technology Review and received the group's Most Valuable Product (MVP) award in the security category, the company announced on Monday.

“The MVP Award provides further validation for Gurucul’s leadership position in user behavior analytics space and the value we provide to customers,” Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul, said. “Our ability to continuously monitor identity-based activity and attributes enables organizations to detect threats by insiders and external attackers before they can lead to data breaches and fraud.”

The system utilizes analytics that track the behavior of users and devices to be able to detect when possible hacking or other disturbances occur. This system is able to detect subtle attacks that would fly under the radar for other types of detection. Companies in the financial, technological, healthcare and other sectors utilize the GRA system, according to the announcement.

The company specializes in leveraging user behavior data collection in order to prevent identity theft, fraud, hacking and other harmful threats to networks and other cyber systems.

The company will be demonstrating the GRA at the RSA Conference, taking place in San Francisco, Calif., from April 20 to April 24. The conference brings together industry leaders within the information security sector.
