Global Integrated Security announces new president

Global Integrated Security, a company that provides defense solutions to governing bodies, announced Mike Roberts as its new president on Wednesday.

Roberts has more than 20 years of experience working in the defense industry before joining forces with GIS. He said that his focus will be to continue to progress the company, with the fights against terrorism and narcotics in mind, both here and on U.S. bases overseas.

"Mike understands the challenges facing the United States in these complex and fluid times, and is deeply committed to helping our national security agencies and services meet those challenges," Chairman of the Board of GIS David Gompert said. "This, coupled with his extensive commercial and operational experience in the defense services market, makes him ideally suited to lead GIS as we seek to strengthen and grow our support to the US Government."

Prior to GIS, Roberts was president of the security and solutions division at USIS, Inc., where he was in charge of information management in support of the U.S. defense and intelligence sectors. Prior to that, he was the CEO of ESP, Inc., and senior operations manager at Northrop Grumman, where he was responsible for relations with the Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, the NSA and NASA.

"I am sure the entire GIS team will value the business skills and sector insight that Mike brings," Damian Perl, the chairman and CEO of Global Strategies Group, GIS' parent company, said. "His leadership will help ensure GIS continues to deliver and grow effective, innovative services to meet emerging security threats."
