Immediate Response Technologies releases new CBRN respiratory protection system

Immediate Response Technologies, a Glenn Dale, Maryland-based producer of decontamination systems, recently announced the release of a new respiratory protection system to protect responders against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents.

The CBRN C420 Powered Air Purifying Respirator Filter System uses IRT's filter and blower technology to ensure filtered air and to protect a user's face, eyes and gastrointestinal tract against known biological and chemical agents in liquid, vapor and aerosol form. The system can be used in law enforcement, military and first responder applications.

The system combines IRT's C420 blower with its CBRN CAP 1 filter, a protective mask, to protect its user. The system is certified to protect against blood, blister, nerve and riot control agents. The CBRN C420 PAPR Filter System also protects against toxic industrial chemicals such as ammonia, phosgene, phosphine, nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.

The particulate filter element of the system meets National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health standards to protect against mists, dusts, biological agents and radiological dusts.

IRT also manufactures rapid deployment shelter systems, personal protection products, CBRN decontamination systems and medical protection systems. The company's emergency response and protective equipment is used today by all active military services and various homeland defense organizations.
